Similar to private organizations, it would also be prudent to check the folks in law enforcement, public officers. Physical and mental stability is mandatory in these jobs. Customs/border officials need to be alert, just like the firemen and the police etc.

OBJECTIVE

To enhance security protocols by using voice and behavioural analytics in identifying potential mental health concerns among travellers, such as depression or burnout, during routine customs interviews. The aim is to identify individuals who may need closer observation after entry for both their well-being and public safety, without hindering the flow of travellers

BACKGROUND

Border Control officers conduct random interviews with arriving passengers as part of the entry screening process. Our client is keen on integrating AI-based solutions to improve its ability to detect travelers who might be experiencing mental health issues like depression or burnout. By identifying these individuals, the authorities can provide additional care if necessary while ensuring a smooth entry process.

SOLUTION IMPLEMENTATION

The InsightGenie platform was selected for this use case, leveraging its capabilities in voice analytics and behavior profiling to enhance interview-based assessments. InsightGenie was configured to work in customs interview rooms, equipped audio recording system, and used as follows:

VOICE ANALYSIS IN REAL-TIME

During the interview, Insight Genie processes the voice of the traveller, analysing vocal characteristics for indicators linked to mental health conditions like depression and burnout. The system examines factors such as tone, pitch variability, pauses, and speech patterns.

BEHAVIORAL SCORING & PROFILING

ALERT AND ACTION PROTOCOL

In cases where the system indicates possible depression or burnout:
Customs officers are alerted to assign additional observation resources for that traveller.
The flagged individual is allowed entry, but with a designated team discreetly monitoring their stay within the country.
An optional notification is sent to relevant health authorities if the traveller consents, ensuring they are aware of resources available should they seek assistance.

The use of InsightGenie has allowed our client to:
